(born 9 April 1973 in Martinique) is a French-Martiniquais football midfielder. He represented the Martinique national football team at the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

He is best remembered for scoring a spectacular back heel overhead kick [1] in the UEFA Champions League for Paris Saint-Germain against FC Porto from 2004. The goal was fourth-placed in a countdown of the top Champions League goals of all time by ITV Sport.

He was reported to have turned down France. He said France has 'enough top-quality' players and he would not be needed.

Éric Daniel Pierre Cantona (born 24 May 1966) is a French former footballer of the late 1980s and 1990s. He ended his professional footballing career at Manchester United where he won four English Premiership titles in five years (being suspended the season without title), including two League and FA Cup "doubles". Cantona is often regarded as having played a major talismanic role in the revival of Manchester United as a footballing powerhouse and he enjoys iconic status at the club. He had his greatest career success with German club Bayern Munich, where he won the Intercontinental Cup, the European Cup, as well as two league titles and two domestic cups.

A member of the German national team, Rummenigge won the 1980 European Championship and was part of the squad that finished runner-up in the 1982 FIFA World Cup and at the 1986 World Cup. He was also honoured twice as European Footballer of the Year.

He is currently the chairman of the Bundesliga team Bayern Munich, as well as being the acting chairman of the European Club Association.

In his native Brazil, Pelé is hailed as a national hero. He is known for his accomplishments and contributions to the game of football,[9] in addition to being officially declared the football ambassador of the world by FIFA and a national treasure by the Brazilian government. He is also acknowledged for his vocal support of policies to improve the social conditions of the poor (when he scored his 1,000th goal he dedicated it to the poor children of Brazil).[10] During his career, he became known as "The King of Football" (O Rei do Futebol), "The King Pelé" (O Rei Pelé) or simply "The King" (O Rei). He is also a member of the American National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Di Canio was born in Rome, in the district of Quarticciolo. He signed for Lazio, in 1985; here he remained until 1990, moving to another of Italy's biggest clubs, Juventus. He stayed there until 1993 and successive seasons saw him join first Napoli and then A.C. Milan. In 1996 he joined Celtic in Scotland, and his successful season in Glasgow (scoring 15 goals in 37 appearances) saw him make a move to the English Premiership as he joined Sheffield Wednesday for a sum of around £4.2m. Whilst in Sheffield, Di Canio was the club's leading goal scorer for the 1997–98 season with 14 goals and he became a favourite of the fans.
